Talking about black track sprinters and Benjamins...
In NL there was a guy called Martin Benjamin. A couple of years ago he did sprint/speed disciplines on the track.
He was quite good at it, but he was even a better fighter with his fists.
After a serious fight (probably not the 1st one), he got suspended and he ended his carreer. -

Nelson must've been tonk. At the time of the Olympics he was 80kg, but was only 5'9"!!
Consider a ProTour rider at that height would be anything between 58-68kg max.

Sorry, couldn't resist! I was only joking, they do both exude the same vibe as it goes; kind of like a 'his and hers'.

Good article on Vials
first comment on that page is interesting.
I live in Boulder and can remember Mike Aisner (of Red Zinger/Coors Classic fame) organizing an "all comers" sprint to advertise his race. The sprint was downtown and Nelson was there with his "trick" sprint bike. It had a rear derailleur and two cogs. The derailleur was operated by a brake lever. Upon starting, Nelson held in the lever keeping the bike in a low gear. As he came to speed he realeased the lever and the bike upshifted to a higher, and faster gear. Very cool... and yes, the man was ALWAYS smiling. - Carl N.

This picture should be issued to every 150lb wannabe who insists that he needs a carbon frame "for the stiffness".
+1
All this talk on forums about "stiffness" is just non-sense... if the frame is aluminum, then it's way too harsh to ride; if it's carbon, "it feels like a noodle"... blah! People just love to complain!

True to a point as frame materials differences are hard to detect by a person but a quill stem is definitely noodley compared to a modern ahead stem. Probably doesn't make the sprinter any slower but it doesn't feel great!
he just became the man.
