I´m on the same boat with the Carlton. 27" rims don´t come abundant anymore, manage to track down some rigida NOS for chips, so now I´m sorted. (I posted some 27" SUN rims a few pages back, don´t think they´re worth it). If I could get my hands on some 40h NOS track hubs I would get tandem 27"s, but thats rarer than rocking horseshit.
You don't necessary need 27", you can have 700c with 28c tyres and it's pretty similar to a 27" with skinny tyres, it's a win win if I have 700c.
