Bike porn

it looks like old fart. Why is somebody trying so hard to fuck up a Mercian Custom with the whole brooks assortment, ugly bicycle racks & honjo fenders. Looks like he was trying hard (just in the way to spend money) but nothing will make this cycle unique or interesting. I guess thats just the result if people think when they spend a lot of money they will have always something personal or special like the advertising promised. Something so personal that it looks just like the person who was brainstorming about this mainstream junk.

If he was going to make it look like a hot randonneur, like the good old days, he just failed. The background from the pic is telling half of the story and the yellow nipples the rest.
If he was going to built up a handy bike, he has done it but the purpose is just another and this sux so much I could piss on his mudflap...

Totally disagree with this.

The colour scheme/theme/style...whatever, may may take a page from vintage randonneur or whatever. But the bike itself is composed of purely modern components, to produce modern performance levels, at the best price. If you where build a similar bike with NOS components (to achive 'the look') you would be spending over the odds to achive a lower performance level.

The leather finishing may be an extravagance, but everything else looks 'fit for purpose' to me. This may well exclude it from bikeporn (i forget the rules), but it doesnt stop it being a damn nice bike.
