Not sure where you work or what "other things" means, but you can use a wireless conection as well. If you're are at a desk, you can leave your phone charging while you listen and you've got music all day. if you don't charge, heavy use (changing albums a lot) will bring the battery to the red in about 4 hours. If you don't change albums much, it is fairly gentle on battery life. After using it for several hours and making a few calls, i'm usually at 50%.
