think it comes down to whether you want to use your bike for commutes etc on busy roads, or just faff about on it and ride on the pavement waves fist
I commute and generally ride fixed, but i've got two ultegra brakes, since it strikes me as just plain dangerous to sacrifice your ability to stop sharpish when some tw*t pulls out on you. Admittedly, the rear brake doesnt see much use, but it's just nice to know it's there.
