48h BMX hub will be cheap for the front so it's just a case of getting a 48 rear.
Velocity, Milwaukee, Halo all do 48 fixed hubs.
If you're going freewheel there are more options.
On another note,
I might get some v-brakes and an adapter plate and see if that helps braking.
I was thinking this a while back and noticed recently Cameron has this set-up...
