I've just read some of last years threads and can see it's a contentious issue, but what time are you thinking of rolling? I'm in if it's fairly early and may persuade another to troll along.

Jayloo and I are definitely candidates for this.

I knew a weekend between would provide a couple of biters. This ride is always going to be hard to get numbers for.
Conker, it'll be a 9am start.
Elguapo & Jayloo, awesome.
Slamm, sweet. We will potentially also have Gabes & his good lady wife along.

This sounds very VERY tempting. Is it only going to be on the quiet streets of "This is London"? I really like the sound of that. Post apocolyptic street riding is awesome. I just wonder if i am loved and will be conned into some sort of festivities...

Im in, crisis only need me for 24, 26 th.
Glad to be out of the whole faux-celebration actually.
Be exactly the sort of time to get a good relaxed look at the city and have a laugh- good hot drink prep and food essential hey.......... -

Someone take some photos, I want to see what it's like to not celebrate Christmas.

Go outside and take a picture of today. It looks like that.

Actually last year there was a cafe in Camden that was open all year round. We dropped in there for some coffee and sandwiches. No reason we can't do it again this year.

I'll probably be up for this again - was a lovely ride last year and a constitutional ride sets you up quite nicely for stuffing later

Being non-religious I'd have loved to join this (as mentioned last year I'm sure) but my mum would kill me for not being with the family in Suffolk for our late December meal and gift exchange.

9am on Christmas day!!!!!
Religious or not I'm sure that is some sort of blasphemy against something! -

How can you blaspheme something which you do not acknowledge the existence of?

I have no plans for the day so I'm up for this. As the 24th will be mental work-wise I'm not sure I'll manage to make it at 9.00 AM though.
Question: Is a bunch of sad loners riding together likely to get all cosy and friendly and Nice-to- meet-you-Happy-Christmas-matey ot will it be a strictly "No *you're *a cunt and your bike's shit" affair? -

I rode up to town on the morning of 25 December last year, me riding fixed and son number 1 in tow on his awesome 531c miffy bike. It was blissful - so calm and cool, and we passed a bunch of cyclists who had gathered outside St Pauls - not sure if this was the waifs and stray ride. However, we were on our way to a Christmas service at the Queen's Chapel of the Saveloy so (despite rampant atheism in parts of family) I can't claim this was a real non-Crimble ride.
We may be doing the same again this year.

It may have been Barry Mason's 'Deserted London' ride, an annual highlight.

Aha, yes it could well have been, fixed bikes were in the minority.

apparently December CM is going ahead on christmas day. Anyone staying out from 9am all the way rheough to 7pm CM start? (I'm not volunteering - just wondering) Don't think it'll be a big turn out for CM

not blasphemy against god really....I mean more against the belief of staying in bed until after midday when you don't have to be at work!

What's the point? Spending free time sleeping is pointless. I'd always rather get some miles done. -

Im in London this xmas. Def going for an early morning ride through London but was thinking of something like 8! maybe 9 is more realistic
[As last years Waifs thread has been bumped by the every entertaining Dropout I figured I'd get this one rolling earlier than usual.
Christmas is a holiday period that I have never had a compulsion to celebrate, I do not see my family and I am not a Christian, I can't say it any better than I did last year. ](https://www.londonfgss.com/thread2675.html)
There are almost certainly a few people who are similarly afflicted, either as they cannot go home to their friends & families or because, like me, they just don't have reason or interest in celebrating the 25th of December.
As such I'll be organising a ride starting from 9am, meeting at Oxford Circus.
I've paid no consideration to the route but that will come closer to the time, it will certainly take in some of the busier roads in London as it's nice to be able to ride them without having to pay attention to traffic.
