Of course, it´s a Panasonic* from 1998, thumb size dent right where the front wheel meets the DT.
I need to check it properly, dunno if that dent will affect the (possible) fail of the frame... but it was cheap, only reason I got it. Gabe´s the man!!.. Well it´s the 3rd frame I got from him, only this year... so I truly recommend buying from him - NJS EXPORT.
I fear having to replace the DT so..... need to ask for quotes from frame builders.. : S*Checkout the lugs.... absolute lust.

it's strange geometry. 60cm BB - top of seattube, 58cm C-C top tube. i've since flipped the stem so the drop isn't so insane, it did look a lot more profound than it actually is in that photo though.
aarrgghh

I assume you're talking about your Ti thingy?
I don't think the frame is for someone who takes a 60cm 'normal geometry' frame. Probably someone who would ride a 56cm. The massive bit of seat tube poking out the top means you should have alot less seatpost showing.
Same instance as a low pro really.
In your case, with the Thomson layback, I think it would look about right with the seatpost inserted to the point where the post bends.

yar, i am. i reckon it fits like a 58cm frame. the drop from the saddle to the top of the bars is about 14cm

Here's my new Gazelle, built up this weekend.
Only given it a quick spin, but it seems to ride very nicely. Quick and responsive and a lot smoother than my old Fuji Track Pro.
List of parts:
Campag Pista Crank/Centaur bb
Record headset
Phil Wood Sprocket 18t
Sram Chain
Fuji wheels
Kalloy stem/seatpost/riser
Regal saddle
Soyo gripsStill to come are a pair of Nitto drops that I've ordered. I'd love to have some Cmpag hubs on there, but the budget isn't allowing me yet!
Going to Reading velodrome next week to test it on the track.
For some reason I can't get the crank bolts (covers) to do up flush with the arms beacuse the actual crank bolts are protruding too far. Hmm...

Nice work. Looking gooooood ;-)
I would fit drops if it were mine, but it's not. -

Cheers. yea drops are on the way. I've got two stems so interchanging should be quick!

Nice Gazelle! Never seen those lugs on the headtube being chromed/polished. And yeah, this build deserves a nice set of drops ;)

Haha. There is a haunting similarity... Interesting.
Are you going for a similar build to mine, I reckon the blue, white and silver looks ace?
...hmmm.

Bottom part(s) a bit different tho'.
-
• #18989
If the bottom part of the stem is like this:
...you might be able to remove the wedge bit and bolt and cut the stem shorter, while keeping the same angle of course, and making sure you still have thread in there for the bolt to screw into. Am I making sense?
i've done this often.

a change of saddle and bars would do it some good.
Yep, I'm looking for some bars that are closer to the original speedway bars but a bit more practical (and not anodised red!). Something like these:
but narrower would be nice.
Yeah, saddle, it'd comfy...It goes with the (ordered in error but I like now) white wall tyres, no?

canondale looks like it would make a rad polo bike
I don't do sport.

@Moonshinewilly- how are you coping with the zero rake fork?
-
• #18993
having stem anxiety. i guess they exist but i can't seem to find any stems with shorter vertical heights (for frames with shorter headtubes). can anybody point me in the direction of one?
i'm aware that i need grips. and by that i mean i'm aware that i don't need grips, i need drops.I dig that paintjob.

It's still too small for him though.

Bottom part(s) a bit different tho'.
Yeah of course, but funny how similar they look at 1st glance. They´re both from same time (roughly).

@Moonshinewilly- how are you coping with the zero rake fork?
It's OK tbh, bit challenging messing about at lights etc but fine when you're moving. Phatish tyres smooth things a bit, it actually rides really nice.
Maybe swapping forks with some nice other chrome jobbies with a bit of rake would be sensible. Pah!

Are you going for a similar build to mine, I reckon the blue, white and silver looks ace?I know... shame that´ll have to re-paint it*... too nice of a frame to keep it like this (chipped and partly painted (spray can?) in different blue).
*...and I doubt I´ll keep it blue.

What colour are you going to go for?
When is the build going to be rolling?
I'm taking mine for a spin in a few hours! (childishly excited)

So many nice bikes on the last few pages...
drool
Rob's pinarello is lush
The Tom Crowther that Crispin's got is also lush
The Roberts that recycled posted made me cry a bit, and it's not even built. So many others, the carlton, the towny/tourer conversion I loved too...
nuknow looks like you'll be needing some 27"s...
