Anyone know the difference between Continental GP4000S and GP 4 Seasons? As far as I can tell the 4 Seasons are longer lasting but heavier... is the grip roughly the same? The GP4000S have the Black Chili compound which according to their marketing is the best thing ever invented, but the 4 Seasons have some other compound. Cost seems exactly the same, don't know which to go for.
i have both tyres
4000s on road bike
4-seasons on fixed bike.
the gp's are a nice grippy fast rolling tyre which is why they are on my road bike
the 4-seasons are a grippy tyre with good puncture protection and a better ride than a gatorskin which is why they are on my fixed.
i guess the 4000's will wear a bit quicker but not really bothered about that. if these are for a commuter/short journey bike then get the 4-seasons
they seem suited to their respective bikes and the kind of riding i do on them.
