  • That Geekhouse look like a boatload of fun, fantastic stuff! were you going to add a rear disc brake?

    yep-
2nd phase of GH2 is panniers and 8 speed disc compatible Sturmey Archer Internal hub...
but thats a while off yet.

    skidding on mud is interesting!

  • So many nice builds!
That is gorgeous Leo! What crank?
    Lovin the Roberts Re-cycled.
    Very nice geekhouse Henry!
I like the bartape with that build Dylan.

  • geekhouse is rad!

you need front rack action though

  • go build me one then!
I was thinking rear rack, with a wine case box....
    its in the planning stages.

  • Just bought this on ebay for £200. Apparently it's a CIA BATTINO. Italian made with Columbus tubing. All Shimano 105. Does anyone know anything else about them. Is that a good price?

Needless to say it's going to go straight to Armourtex. I'm thinkin red with white decals?

    A bit like this

  • To be honest, the colour is more interesting than a simple Langster chrome/red that look pretty common.

  • why needless to say?
that paint job is rad to the power of sick!!!!!
    Seriously, don't paint it.
you'll only regret it down the line.
    plus red bikes are shit.

  • Geekhouse looks Rad Henry, but where are your mutant hubs?

    GH1....
    or they will be.
just trying to work out an equally ridicluous front wheel.
I'm thinking fluoro green tri flange rear, Purple Aerospoke front....
Sug75s are going on it though.
    not sure yet

I was so set on red but now I'm starting to have second thoughts. No way I'm keepin that original paint job.

  • Took the advice on here, changed the bars, changed the stem and cut the steerer tube down about 40mm more so its more sensible.

Just waiting on the bar tape and shorten the brake cables. Can't wait to get out on it properly - cept I'm going to the pub, now!

I think it looks much better anyway.

  • £200 is a great price for a fully build road bike, as for the frame colour, I think it look great, but the photo probably does not do it justice, however it is your bike after all, who are we to tell you what to do with it?

bigfella, do you find the set-up more comfortable now?

  • eyebrows, what tyres are those on the GH2? I want to get some decent treaded tyres for my surly and get it down the woods for some inevitable crashing. You've got a couple of unique bikes there, very well done. Looking forward to seeing that mad wheel you're sorting.

Keep the original paint. It looks luuurvly.

or do what you want - It's your bike.

  • Looks really nice. How exactly are you going to improve on that paint? It's wonderful!

Red has universal appeal, and therefore is about as boring a colour as you could choose. It's the colour of cars (and bikes) in insurance adverting.

    (you did ask)

Haven't tried it properly yet but it does feel much better with the road bars on there. Looks much better too,

    Vittoria randonneur Trail 38s.
Cheap as chips and real nice.

I'll wait till I've seen it in the flesh then but I'm still of the mind that airbrush paint jobs only belong at American truck conventions. And the colours are a bit gay IMO

  • I like to see you try and go down under Putney Bridge at low tiles on that!

    Haha!

    Chill your boots Nick Griffin.

  • @ hellomiles, the cranks are sugino aero mighty

    Sorry, camp

I personally think it would be a massive shame to powdercoat over a chromed rear triangle, especially as the original paintjob is fairly unique and doesn't look damaged.
