crispin, where did you find that tom crowther frame? do you kow anything about it - what frame it actually is? i remember that shop..!

It was hidden away in a cool, dry place somewhere in Kidderminster. It was made by Mercian in 1970, and seems to have the same lugs and wrap-over seat stays of the King of Mercia at the time, but with the optional Cinelli sloping fork crown. I'm it's 3rd owner from new, but I don't remember in any way his shop. I don't know what circumstances surround him letting go of Mercian, the company he founded, either.

I'm waiting on an email from Mercian, see if they know anything about quantities produced. Information is proving to be very scant. Yeah THANKS The Internet!

so i wrecked my bike over the summer. It was this.
The fork was destroyed and so i decided to go threadless. I caouldn't afford a new fork at the moment so i just plunked down some change for a spicer track fork. Sometime I'll get a new proper fork made for the bike.
Here's the current set up. I REALLY need a new stem about 60mm, same rise. that one is 100. way too fucking long. It was just laying down in my parts bin. also it needs to match the frame's tube set better.
need to get the cranks anodized to black, as well.
I'd like a different seat and post as well, but that can wait.

Cheers Max, I love it, the paint is amazing and photo's don't really show how nice it is, the blue is really deep and the white is sort of pearl with a blue tinge. Although, the guy my mate bought it off hadn't really stored it with much care and there are quite a few chips and a big scratch down the seat tube, but the paint distracts you from all that :)
