    Rule 1, start in Australia.
    Rule 2, appear to pick on the weaker opponent but keep the stronger opponents border forces limited.
    Rule 3, Build up a massive contingent near the weaker opponent "in preparation for a massive offensive".
    Rule 4, Wait until the weaker opponent is fighting for survival against the stronger opponent and redeploy suddenly.
    Rule 5, Begin the annhilation, crush foes beneath your feet etc.

    I think it's better to control South America first. Slightly more difficult, but better launch pad. Getting through Asia was a pain.

    Oh, and Rule 6: Be incredibly lucky at rolling dice. :) I didn't win at Risk often, but when I did, that's why I won.

    We recently played a game of Risk again and were really disappointed at how badly it's aged in comparison to newer, more innovative games. But back in the day, it was an all-nighter.
