I enjoy roundabout surfing like the next person, but they are a bad idea--.... ... --if you look at inconsistently signalised roundabouts like E&C or HPC, you have one major explanation right there why they still strike fear into many cyclists.

I was on NO way proposing that we build any roundabouts. I'm from Milton Keynes remember, and I know how restrictive to free movement they are for cycles and peds. I was proposing that most, if not all, traffic light signals could be replaced with four-way crossings. They would only work when coupled with people starting to Use Their Fucking Eyes and Brains in Their Heads.
