It makes me happy to see everyone's new bikes :)
I brazed in some track ends to my frame about a week ago, there still fine no bending or cracking.
I'm doing a few more bikes then i might start doing it for other people for bike parts/cash? in the cornwall area -

OK, I am starting a new project. I got a raw frame built to measure. It is Columbus SL tubing and I would like to paint it Pearl White, but in Belgrade, where I live there is no painter with chamber who is willing to paint a bicycle frame. I wonder does anyone of you have experience in achieving Pearl White finish with wet paint? And yes, I don’t want powder coating.

Just acquired a Mavic Challenger disc... useless shit I know, but it seems to be able to make a remarkable noise ;) needs a track conversion kit though, and I guess thats about as impossible to find as hens teeth.. Perhaps I better use it with a geared hotrod?
(If anyone has a conversion-kit please pm me... also, if anyone converted a disc to fixed with a SAFE-FOR-BRAKELESS method please tell me how you did?)

it's a falcon i found in my 'rents new place in one of the sheds. looked like this when i dug it out, CW D-lock
(sorry for the terrible picture)i was in 2 minds whether to get rid of the original patina but my temptation to take everything apart got the better of me.
as everything else is rusty/pitted i'm probably going to have the lot powder coated black, white handlebar tape and the original red/white/black saddle cleaned up quite nicely.....
it nearly ended up yellow
only other cost items right about now are a new stem (had to cut the old one out as it was siezed stuck) and new headset, and if budget can afford a new set of pedals and a seatpost.
i'd like to think it'd be done for under £50 as a self budget, because it was a free bike it'd defeat the point a little if i were to throw a load of cash at it

I use DID, cheap Z510 KMC, Devil101 KMC, Izumi before,
I strongly recomment just using Z510 is the best choose,
DID, Izumi making the chain sound quite loud.
but Z510 is the quiest in my opinion. Thanks marcola.
I'm just trying to work out how the hell the kmc is only £5-6 while all the other high end chains are £30-50.
I'm needing a track chain for a bike which will be ridden with a chain punishing 100 gear inches (or there abouts). Is the z510 still the prefered chice for herne hill? -

think i broke photobucket, if you hit F5 a cuttla times it should show up. ooops.
falcon sent me a load of period stickerage and a head badge FOC too, which was nice of them

I'm not sure Z510 is it ok for herne hill?
but this chain is reliable and best for me,
I really don't think you have to pay more cash for devil 101,
IMO, I really like z510 than D101, DID, Izumi. Thanks marcola.

ooh dude, that looks fucking sweet. How many miles have you planned on doing?
well i'm just borrowing it for a bit. didnt do loads...about 60 each day sat & sun up a hill, down a valley and around a lake (*repeat) and was amazed...didnt feel a thing. thursdays to thank for that plus the bike was set up perfect. welcome to have a blast whenever...will bring it down to rick on friday a.m. if you can make it.
-
• #17895

is there any point riding anything else here? straight back on it and just messing about with a few new bits. picked up this for £50 new...the non-tests are £125.
feels amazing. should be out this week...figured last week we'd be moving targets for rocket wielding fen freaks whilst inhaling a lung full of ash.

Its my third
It looks like you've made a lot of decisions based on an aesthetic. That's common with 1st builds. That's not meant as disrespect – bikes meant different things to different people.

Ended up with enough parts for three complete bikes again.
Latham finally has a nice wheelset of its own. Campy record to Wolber Profil. Plus came across some nice Cinelli Pistas.
Vivalo is just being used for track this season. Wish I had some tubs for her.
The Cecil Walker just looks weird as usual.Your bikes are monsters born from a dream box of parts! I love 'em all. What tracks are there to ride in Auckland (your in Dorkland right?).
