definately the softly softly approach is gonna work best, youve gotta appreciate that a lot of girls (not all) arent going to enjoy the general everyday grind of commuting like a lot of blokes do. Ive met plenty of girls who want to ride, but many more who cant stand the idea. Pretty much every girl ive been with has been interested in my cycling but has absolutely no desire to take it up in the same way. As was said above, use your cycling as some 'me' time and enjoy your time together not cycling.
If she wants to she will, if not then it would be rude to try and 'convince' her.
