until you remember that drops are impossible to ride without brakes, i don't care what anyone says it's true. and furthermore you're wrong it doesn't it looks geat with ourys, they are the best grips pound for pound. anyone disagrees is a willy wonker.

I ride with drops and find it just as easy as with risers. As long as your bike fits you and you can actually ride in the drops (which I do 80%+ of the time) then stopping is easy.
If you use drops incorrectly and just hold the flat part next to the stem then I would agree they would be useless, but you don't do that. Do you? :-)
I agree with you about Oury's and I find them comfortable too but they look out of place on a classic thin tubed steel track frame (as do risers)
