How do I convince my girl to start riding?

I quite like this thread, the OP posts that he would like to convince his girlfriend to ride a bike by page one everybody has interpreted is as to force.

I convinced Jaygee and myself that we should get bikes two years ago. I had been talking about it for a while, years actually. I liked the idea but was scared of traffic, Jaygee thought it would be a phase and that the bikes would end up rotting in the cellar. We now have two bikes each and ride every day.
