I think they come up a size bigger. I have 36 in the cotton and herringbones and 36 in the WWRs and they are much larger. I wish I had gotten a 34. The water resistance has so far been good. I haven't spent a long time in a torrential downpour yet, but in the rains that we've had and running around for 30 minutes, I haven't gotten wet through them.
The fleece lining is nice. I think they will stay nice and toasty with a pair of good wool socks. I really like them a lot and would definitely recommend them.
