  • Hi I'm from Bristol, building a Cheap fixie to take to Uni when i go next year (hopefully). I have 4 bikes (MTB, Road, Hybrid, fixie).

  • well lads and lassies. i'm mark. i can't remember whether i've posted here before, but i have certainly gleaned some on the ball and appreciated advice some time ago when i got into fixed gear riding. i've just moved over from dublin to study in goldsmiths and am looking forward to getting into a bit of group riding/boozing with a few sound individuals.

  • I think its cool, just was seriously surprised how quick you were. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks fella, Hopefully see you around!

  • hi there
I am also new to forum - have a little racer bike and looking to buy a fixie in the next couple of months
thanks for all the info on the site

  • Hi, another n00b here.
Starting to put together a fixed conversion. Bought a nice-looking (to me) frame from about 1960, just realised the significance of 91mm front forks and the popularity, or not, of hubs that fit. Read Sheldon a little bit too late.
    And so it goes.

    Hi, so what you considering?

  • Hi, signed up a few weeks ago, and was lurking for a couple of months before that, so thought is was time I got around to posting something. I've been riding SS on a cotic roadrat for the last year and a half, and I'm about to get a new bike and make the move to fixed. Not 100% what I'll be getting yet, so I'll probably be after some advice soon.

  • Hello everyone.

Been cycling fixed for a while and come across the forum a few times but only just joined. Looking forward to having a dig through.

  • Hi folks. Im from rotterdam, the netherlands. Relatively new to fixed gear, started riding on an old gazelle track bike just a couple of months ago. really loving it and already looking into getting a second bike! here to soak up knowledge and share love

  • Welkom Habitual, digging that Gazelle of yours!

  • hi i'm peter from tilburg, netherlands, addicted to bikes

looking through my old photographs (ahem, august 09) and feeling sorry i sold this. lots of projects going on, will post when i have something nice.

    cheers

  • Hi all -- I've been stopping by the forum every now and again and haven't posted up until now. Before I got back into cycling, I was working as an asphalter for the past 18 years, then had the chance to get a van courier job when the roofing work dried up. Lasted about a month in the van, then another month as a foot courier, then made the transition to cycle. Had a few minor accidents since -- One open car door smash and hit a pedestrian who'd stepped out between buses which ended in a fancy somersault over the bars. Currently riding an old Peugeot beater, but will be getting a black Cotic Roadrat sometime soon.

  • Hello all, I've been lucky enough to be able to walk to work but moved flat last week and im already sick of the bus!! After talking to a work college about cycling in, She generously let me ride her fixie around the block and after falling in love put me onto this forum. So although I dont have one of my own yet I hope to soon and in the mean time learn more about them!
    Cheers Si

  • Welcome, Si. There are plenty of threads around to help you with your purchase. Have a look at the list of OTPs, for instance.

  • Hi Oliver, ya i had a quick look at the OTP's but I dont want to be paying over the odds for a bike just beacuse its brand new etc, espically as its my first fixie. Id much rather get use to the style of riding first and gain a better feel for exactly what I would want before I spend the big big bucks. So I'm currently just looking somthing second hand nothing fancy but soild which I can build on. Currently Looking on lfgss:for sale, ebay, gumtree, craigs and was thinking about posting a wanted ad here for a starter bike incase anyone else who had one was looking to up-grade, but any Tips comments welcome. Thanks

  • Howdy from a newbie. I came across LGSS whilst hunting for a new tent! :)

Seems like a nice site settles down, with slippers and a big mug of cocoa

  • Hey, why spend big bucks at all? Build your own.

  • bonjour velo headz.

i found the forum looking for supreme skatedecks! 'JD' on here has them.. i am trying to buy them from him/her but not responding? anyone know the the person.

i have a colango master pista frame, however its in italy being treated, some niggles with the paint work. cant wait to build it... i have a panto chainring, KMC chain, colnago panto stem, campag panto seat post and a selle san marco seat at the moment.

looking for PISTA as new / mint cranks 144 bcd. some bars and some wheels!

anyhow... out of the nursery now... ! cheers!

  • I have been tempted but due to a lack of tools and know how, I think its better for me to get a complete bike and build on that.

  • Hello all,

Just joined mainly because I have one specific question to ask (so I will wait the 24 hours then post it in the "bike parts" area!

For now just a quick "Hi!" on here.

You may see me riding around Soho or SE London one of these bikes:

  • Greets... looking over the pages for advice on a good SS cyclo. May well go for the Felt Breed, as Evans has a £100 off the 2009.

  • not new here been lurking for a long while,

  • Hello.

Yes, another bloody Yank has joined your forum. Please rest assured I shan't be loutish; nor do I plan to dismantle your language.

I may request clarification with some of the slang used, but I'll also try not to be a pest about it.

    Cheers
