• That's a pretty imprssive snap, how did you manage it?

My Falcon has recently been transformed into a commuting machine with the addition of a rear rack and more lights. Heavy as fuck now.

Happened pulling away at lights out of the saddle.I reckon it was my monster thighs*

    *13.5 stone build

Got a much lighter 531 frame now, which I've nearly finished.

Rack for my mountain bike is on order. Then Rigid fork. Rarely need to get outta the seat these days on that machine.

  • actually it wasnt a trance because we stopped to wait for Luke in his alcoholic state

It was not an alcoholic state, It was a hungover state ... it all about semantics.

  • That would be the problem then, beer for breakfast would have sorted you right out! :)

I went for this rack and with some of these P-clips, But not bothering with panniers. Ordered a 15l dry bag from this website, which will be bungee strapped to the rack. Until that arrives I'll be sticking with carrier bag waterproofing in rucksack bungee'd on.

  • free ticket for "Waltz With Bashir" 7.30 at Uni if anyone wants it.

  • sorry to continue this but if anyone is up into London anytime soon do you think you could pick up my frame from Royce Factory, New Milton? Booze awaits...

  • Hi, another Bournemouthite here, first post so be gentle =) Don't actually have a fg/ss yet, considering converting a hideous Pashley MB I've recently inherited!

  • Hi Plinth, I am a recent convert to singlespeed and love it,wish I'd done it years ago.

    What do you ride?

Ain't nowt hideous about a Pashley ... converting a MTB to single speed usually costs about £80 to 100 quid, I have a on-one rear sprocket, KMC 3/32 chain and a conversion kit that I bought from charlie the bike monger. Been working flawlessly that setup has for about a year with also zero maintenence.

  • Hi Plinth, I ride a Raleigh Record single speed. I can't get enough of it ,sadly after an altercation with a car on Charminster road a few days ago I am nursing a v painful ankle, Thank God the bikes OK though!

  • love that downhill past Primera, full speed round there like lightning.

  • ^ charmister road is a dodgy as.

Anyway if the weather is not shit next weekend we could well be going out for a ride.
