Agree, suggesting it is okay to break the law is an odd stance from as you say a mainstream company.
Giant did exactly the same when the Bowery appeared. Giant (with the Bowery) and Specialized (with the new Globe thing) have stock-shots of their bikes without brakes... and they're definitely not track bikes.
