Salmon's probably won't work well with tyres above 23 (or a skinny 25).
Why not get the Gilles Berthouds (from sjs)? I'd be getting those now if I was doing it all again. And may well be soon for my Mercian, bit sick of skinny tyres. Also, they'd fill up your modest clearances nicely on that bike, by the look of your photo.
