  • A £200 brake? Ouch.

Think of anything else you're likely to buy and get it at the same time, bung it on Cyclescheme; coat, gloves, lights, etc.

  • Have UTFS'd.

Swapping the seatpost clamp on my 09 Track, 61cm frame. Spec says its 28.6mm, e.g.:

    http://www.evanscycles.com/products/fuji/track-2009-single-speed-road-bike-ec016010

Just bought a nice Salsa liplock 28.6mm but it won't fit over my seat tube. Looks a couple of mm to narrow. Anyone know if the bigger frames have a bigger clamp size or something?

Also, as an aside, anyone know why the Fuji Track appears to no longer feature on the official Fuji website??? Odd.

    Cheers!

Yea, it was just a standard Tiagra as well...maybe they realised I was a newbie!

I have to buy brakes if I do get a fuji track, not sure if I should just go for the Lager instead. It's the same company from what I've heard, and comes with brakes for around £20 more.

Much prefer the classy look of the Fuji though.

  • I put a 105 brake on mine for £30 - more stopping power than you can use. Could easily endo.

Now I've got a pair of Veloce on there with drop levers and it's a different story. When I get my audax bike finished I'll be going back.

Yea I was looking at the 105 initially, but as you said it has more stopping power than I would probably need. Tiagras should do the job I think, I'm kinda on a budget.

    Btw, what's endo?

  • Better to have too much stopping power than not enough! Agree, 105s do seem powerful.

An endo is presumably short for endover where your end goes over your head or arse over tit.

  • Nice to have the extra bite if you need it. Endo is a trick that I can't do. I do a pale imitation sometimes by accident where I nearly go face first into the pavement.

I remember once coming up to a junction near the Imperial War Museum and blasting towards it trying to make the green light, about 20 feet away I realised I wouldn't and slammed on the brakes - went about 30 feet on the front wheel, feathering the brake. Couldn't do that again if I tried for a million years.

  • Felt like 30 feet, so you know it was probably more like 30 inches. I remember going mountain biking once when a mate had a video camera - did what felt like a huge jump, looked at the video and I'm about 6in off the ground...

  • I heard the Track was no more.

  • Hmm, really annoying that I can't find a Fuji Track stockist who falls under the cyclescheme, and doesn't charge £100 over retail. ARGH!

  • £359 at Evans?

  • £359 at Evans?

Yea, but they're not on cyclescheme :(

  • My 56 Fuji Track 08 for your 58 (or bigger)

I have a very nice 08 Fuji Track in a 56. Problem being is that it's a little too small. If on the off chance anyone has the same, but bigger and would be keen to trade let me know.

  • Does anyone know if the thread is English or italian? I can't get the old one off either way.

  • There's a Sugino one for £15 ;)

  • Surly you should be riding one of these:

  • Out of interest, what is the make of the stock Fuji bottom bracket? I'm about to replace a BB, and would like to avoid this one now!

  • do it...worth it

  • No need for now, thanks to those who got in touch. I've now sorted myself out with a 58 and I'm selling my 56 on Sunday. Win.

  • has anyone put charge scissor forks on their fuji track?

  • The charge scissor on the track?! wowweee

  • I got my Fuji Track from Evans when it came out at the start of this year. Thanks Barclaycard. Bike is fucking awesome. Done some good distance on it but have replaced loads of bits. Bars, stem, seat, post, headset, sprocket, rear wheels, chain wheels etc. Check my profile pictures to have a look...

What stem have you got on that?

  • He changes it every couple of days...

  • The frames ride like a good steel track frame - which is pretty ace for $mall piles of ca$h.
