i won't replace the TT man, whats the point, if she goes she goes, and ill be selling bits seperately :) she still has years of life left, maybe not track, but it's more than enough for anything else.
it doesn't cost a lots to replace the top tube and it'll prolong the life of the frame, surely it make logical sense, you just need to replace the tubing with similar one.
The tubing is very delicate, I will not find a substitute. It has a story to it and I don't intend to ruin it by messing with the original craftmanship. Money won't replace the feeling of the amazing precision it delivers, and I intend to keep it that way.
you made it sound like the Nag is build by pai fucking mei!

If it wasn't obvious from verb's post, Hufnagel bikes are made by Keith's brother.

your frame is superb, there is no doubt about that, but that dent isn't just a ding, it looks much worse than that.
it's probably rideable, but personally i wouldn't until i replaced the TT.As long as there are no cracks visible, there is no problem to ride it, road or track.
And even when there comes a crack, the tube (and the rest of the frame) will certainly not snap in one time.
The crack will just grow slowly until the tube is half way through. -

From the photo, I cant see a problem riding it.
If you like, I'll take it off your hands and ride it around for a year, just to make sure, cuz I'm sweet like that :) -

It's not like riding on the road is going to be that stressful on the tubing. I rode a dented downtube frame on my BMX for 2 years without any mishap. That included bombing stairsets that would probably break my wrists now.

I like your thinking.
Shame the dent. Cover it, and ride that muuuhfucker out.

one of those kashimax (sp?) tt protectors would probably cover it up pretty much and not look out of place.

Good find Josh, any idea about the key on the stem?
-
• #21513
it's a built in D-lock
-
• #21514
Weird question, but does anyone know where I can get a stem mounted combination credit card and cigar hold.... oh.
-
• #21515
does anyone else find that extremely obnoxious? (the cigar/car holder I mean)
-

I'm all over it.
Will be producing my prototypes in the next week or so.
I'm thinking of calling it:
'Pretentious Pouch'
or
'I own you, bitch' -

I just find it a bit weird.
If I had a list of things I'd need quick access to whilst cycling, my credit card and a cigar wouldn't be anywhere near the top 10.

as if there's no room at all in your pocket for a credit card!

But surely one has to let others see that one is palping an AmEx card

they would be if you chain smoked cigars though (credit card required to keep up stock as cigars can be expensive)
Worth noting that a cigar would also burn through very quickly when riding due to wind resistance so keeping the holder stocked up would be a full time and expensive (credit card again) job.
Where do you put your lighter and cigar end cutter off thing though?
