Just want to jump on this band wagon for a sec. Is there ONE product that will do it all? I get super hot and sweaty cycling - is there something that won't have me sweating from the inside and will keep me dry when the skies open? I have a shite altura waterproof thing atm which they market as breathable - its bollox....I'd be equally well off wrapped in cling film for its breathability. Female specific suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I have exactly the same problem, anything plasticky and waterproof = sweatbox. At the moment I'm commuting in roubaix fleece-lined long sleeve jersey, which was £5 from Herne Hill Jumble, with a cotton t-shirt or vest underneath. It's turned out to be the most versatile bit of clothing I own, works well with multiple layers underneath, and seems to have some magic water-holding properties, where the outside jersey layer gets saturated, but the fleece lining stays bone-dry (the inside stayed totally dry through two 5 mile downpours this summer). Not much help with finding a jacket I know, but would be interested to hear suggestions, since there's only so many washes a £5 jersey can stand...
