Fuck Yeah. I had one of those back when I was an actual courier. The frames all used to snap where the seat-stay and chain-stay meet as the frames were so out of alignment. Used to get it welded up by some back-street place off Shoreditch high street every couple of months. Eventually gave up and got a Saracen frame, heavy, but didn't break.
hmm, mine makes a kind of squeaky noise when I go over certain bumps, might need to take everything off and have a close look.. I'll be gutted if I can't keep using it as my daily

Any thoughts on the Kelly?
I like it

Marcola, I'd have gone with a way more predicable build (silver rims, gumwalls, black leather) to show off the frame, but props for going for all out with the colour scheme.
Looks sweet as carrot anyway. Got any outdoor photos?
White tyres make me facepalm every time :)

I think Ed's offering to let you borrow his Dad's tyres... your call. ;)

Is it difficult to get the wheel aligned in the dropouts? This is where the problem is, used to snap rear-axles due to the strain on them. If it's survived this long it will hopefully be one of the straight ones.

I've seen Marcola's bike in the flesh.

@ Marcola: Love it. But oy with the radials and white tyres.

• #16912
it does seem off centre at times, but my wheels aren't straight so not entirely sure. My problem is a kind of squeaking coming from what appears to be the BB area when I go over a bump, or when you feel the frame 'give' under hard pedalling it makes that kind of noise
could just be a knackered BB though

or pedals.

or saddle
-
• #16915
no, put new pedals on today, and it happens when I'm pedalling uphill, off the saddle most of the time
when all my weight is transferring from crank to crank, if you know what I mean

thanks many of yours suggestion,
I'll change the tyre to black,
it should be good on it. -
• #16917
No, go for the Open Corsa ones, as suggested by Ed. They'd really suit frame like this one.
As for the rims, search for Mavic Montherly (but I think they're for tubulars ;-/) which are quite lovely.Anyway, don't worry much - I also have white tyres with blue deep-vs on an Italian oldish frame and don't have any regrets. I will probably build another wheelset with silver old style rims for tubs (like Montherly or even Araya) with Campy Record 36h hubs which I have sitting in my drawer already, so I don't offend fellow forum users if I decide to show up on the bike in the near proximity of them :-)

Re-jigged the FES, gone a little more classic. I know you shouldn't mix Campag and Shimano, but budget/time do not allow for searching for another C-Record chainset and seatpost. So, mix it is.
Speechless for abit..................................................................................................
If ever I was abducted by aliens and put in a dome to be observed and they
asked if I need anything to make my stay more agreeable and I said
" a single speed bicyle" I would hope that tihs is what they build me....

Would removing a link put that tire snug against the frame, or squeezed against the frame?
That's an outrageous bicycle. The alien quote is spot-on. Hideous in some ways, but I'm glad it exists. Can't stop looking at it.
