Well cottered cranks are what Pifko showed in the picture, the stronglights are sinply cheapo track/singlespeed cranks, they are different to most cranks in that the crank are and chainring are one if you see what i mean, same as the sugino maxy's https://www.londonfgss.com/attachments/6906d1236800908-img_8121.jpg

Its just that, damn near every cottered crankset i'd seen was pressed to the chainring. I've always kept well away.
