Snap- just sent her the photo and whilst she did not hit the roof I was left in no doubt that it would not be allowed. However- there are other places in my pokey flat where this might work. I presume one works out the bracket to wheel height by simply adding crank length to floor to centre of BB height? i.e. how tall the section of masonry that one can use can be.

You don't need to know the bracket to wheel height. They (the wheels) just rest against the wall.
