I agree with Tommy, I've a pair of Pearl Izumi lobster gloves that I bought when I lived in Zurich. They are good down to at least -10 and I can't wear them unless it's hovering around the zero degree mark as my hands get too hot.
If you don't want the lobster type gloves then I've had a pair of SealSkinz gloves for the past 3 winters that are excellent. I was reluctant at first given my bad experience with their waterproof socks (that fill up with water when cycling) but a friend who runs a bike shop was so insistent that they were very warm that I bought some. He was right.
I will look into the PI Lobster gloves.....I have a pair of the SealSkinz gloves and that is what i wore this morning......hands still very cold......so i know its me....my feet do not have the same problems.....just my hands.....so when it gets really cold....cycling is very painful as i lose all feeling in my hands...Many years ago went fishing....put a hook into my finger.....could not feel it...no blood either and this was a barbed hook deeply embedded into my thumb...New Year's Eve...bleedin' freezin!
