• It has to be done, so here it is, one of the most famous lo-pro ever (been even featured in bikesnobnyc.blogspot), a true HHSB.

The frame is Lo-pro TT funny bike, fillet brazed with Columbus SL tubing, curvy seat tube and top tube goodness, no many lo-pro were made with this tubing, made by Aende (Pongo Braithwaite was the frame builder) based in Mansfield until the 90s.
All the decals were removed from the previous owner.
    Dimensions:
seat tube (in straigh line) 56cm CtC
top tube (in straigh line) 57cm CtC
I'm just 6ft and fit me OK

It has vertical dropsouts, but at the moment has a 48/18 magic ratio and has never give any problems.
Also, it has all the braze-ons, in case you want to put the gears back
yes, it is drilled for brakes front and rear
    Selling only frame and forks

The Zipp 650c front wheel, is a Zipp 500 rim with Hope Ti hub lace with DT Swiss bladed spokes, radial laced. The decals has also been removed. this wheel is the bee's knees, looks the business
It is a clincher, I'm sure you haven't seen many like this.
Michelin Iron Man TT tyre in red/black and inner tube included. 650x23c
    It has breaking surface.
    18 spokes

The Dura Ace 650c front wheel, model WH-7700, factory wheel. One of the most beutiful wheels ever made imho
Clincher and more rare than hen's teeth
New Continetal Grand Prix 3000 tyre and inner tube included. 650x20c
    It has breaking surface.
    Has an emerald green shine
    16 spokes
if you wnat you can read some reviews here, and a test in lateral stiffness here

Prices, for the frame in the region of £280, and for the wheels around £150 each, but the best offer will get it.

If you fancy the whole bike, let me know and we can speak about it, but not too sure if I wnat to get rid of the back wheel just yet.

I will try to post new pictures soon, this is one with and old set up

  • you could have at least waited till the lo pro ride was finally done and dusted my Spanish friend...

  • it is not sold yet Jamas, and the bike is still in one piece so if at the end the ride happen, I will still going dont you worry.

  • beautiful rik

  • That is stunning, shame your not selling the back wheel though!

  • I love that bike the mostest.

  • It doesn't get much better than 'Pongo Braithwaite'. I've no idea whether he built good frames, I'm just in love with the name.

I also love the fact that having the piss ripped out of your bike on Bikesnob is now seen as a plus point...

    jajajajaja

  • Pongo built cracking frames - Aendes are fab.

I've posted this before, but a nice photogallery of Pongo and his work for anyone who's interested.

  • how much for the rear wheel? :)

  • Beautiful set of photos... Why you selling, Rikky? Polo tourney travel money?

  • cough * sex change operation * cough

  • Here are some better pics - IMO this bike is one of if not the best Lo-Pro on the streets of London ( but i would say that :) ! )- the frame is incredibly lite, and the ride quality is amazing, one of those frames where you really understand what people are harping on about when they talk about the ride quality of high end steel. From my research when i owned it, there were only a handfull of bikes made with this tube set, the only others i could find being TDF spec Colnago's.

The colours are uber bright in the flesh

  • Such a sweet bike! Is the seat stay deliberately masking the WaC sticker in the top photo rik? ;)

  • Bling bling!! Lovely.

  • ..

  • camon Dicky, go for it!!!

  • it is not sold yet Jamas, and the bike is still in one piece so if at the end the ride happen, I will still going dont you worry.

shoots and me are starting the planning process tonight.. hopefully you'll be able to ride with us to bid farewell to this beauty dude..!

good luck with the sale, it's truly one of the vertical-dropout lo pros of all time..

  • i already deserve a good kicking from rik for my one post, i am not going to anger you any more !!

  • All good Julien, all good :)

I been long enoght in the forum to know how it works.

  • Do people actually ride disc wheels on the street?

  • what did he say rik? what did he say???!!!

  • if they are CLINCHERS and looks the bussines in your bike, yep

  • Do people actually ride disc wheels on the street?

Do people still ask stupid questions on the internet?

  • i flippin love this bike, if only i was a little bit taller!

how tall are you alex, i have a memory of last time i saw you at wests you being on a small bit taller than me, but i suspect i might have been sating on a kerb while you were in the gutter....
