All the guys and girls at Cyclopolis in Balham are rather nice - they mostly do commuter stuff, but happy to talk you through any tech query or get in any parts.
I nipped in there to buy some stock brake blocks for my girlfriend's Raleigh Stowaway last week and, just before I paid, one of the mechanics nipped into the workshop and remerged with a loose pair of blocks with a leather inset that he insisted would be vastly better for the old steel rims on her bike and were cheaper to boot. Nice one.
Conversely, Psubliminal (across the road, also in Balham)... not so good in my experience.
