On One used to stock Dinotte lights and I bought one on intro offer when they first started. Small, lightweight, runs on AA's not some specific-and-set-to-become-obsolete Li ion pack and tough as you like. Made from a machined barrel of aluminium, mine are 5+ years old, have done my winter commuting all through that time; they still look and work fine. Eventually the bar strap perishes but it is just a large rubber O ring, which again is entirely replaceable. Could have got one from On One or Dinotte but found one at Homebase for pennies.
On One don't do 'em any more but they show up on ebay from time to time and are a bargain. The front is BRIGHT and the rear gives a huge glow. I have been followed by friends (returning home from parties etc) in their cars who reported honestly thinking they were coming up behind a motorcyle with a fog light on until they realised it was me.
Can't recommend them enough but make sure to go for the AA battery packs (they do offer a lithium battery pack version).
