So what's reasonable? built up to 5 last night but not sure how many nore I've got in me... Feels well dodge fixed. Fun though.

reasonable? ooh, sounds dangerous, so I'd say none. You might do yourself a nasty injury.

I prefer puddle jumping.

In the olden times we used to just get off our bikes and walk down stairs. Halcyon days.

In the olden days we used to jump down stairs on mountain bikes and, latterly, BMXes. Now that I'm an adult riding a road bike I wouldn't dream of it. GAFB.

It's more about the bike bit than the growing up bit really. GAFB stands for 'go and find beer'.

This is why I was asking what's reasonable - meant in terms of what to expect from the bike - seems like the answer is none!

I fondly remember as a kid when my mother was around 30, she used to try to impress my father by rolling down the stairs EVERY time he came back from the pub pissed.

I'm sure it is! fixed gears are to stairjumping what diving suits are to swimming.
