I've no idea if he's surrounded by sycophants, but I find he's still worth reading. I'm not a big fan of repetitive misanthropy, but Brooker puts in enough imaginative metaphors and genuine eulogies to stuff he does like that he is one of the few media commentators worth paying attention to.
