There is no "wrong" side of the road, only traffic signs and markings that must be obeyed.

Tru dat, but most traffic islands have a "keep left" sign on them, and failing to obey that particular road sign when using a motor vehicle can cost you 3 points on your driving licence, so it must be seen as a particular cause of collisions.
