New guy here. Got shit lights but tempted to hop on, seeing as it's pretty much my local route and my ride home from work will give me just enough time to get to st mary cray once i've dropped off my bag etc. Unless having shit lights will piss you all off, in which case I'll just go home. Or buy a singleshot in my lunch break.

6pt, would be great to have you along but we really do insist on proper lighting. if you can pick one up or at lunchtime or if any TNRC regulars can step up for a loan of one then that would be great.
anyone anyone?
-
• #3155
nice one STE5 - just to confirm - the light needs to be good enough to light up the road ahead - it's gonna be real dark out there.
-
• #3156
Cheerse STE, I'll still try to pick up a singleshot at lunch and get it charged by the eve, but it's nice to know there's a fallback option.
-
• #3157
good work fellas. be good to have you along 6pt
-
• #3158
It will be pretty much dark from the word go tonight.
Right, gotta go and work out how to attach a bottle cage to a Brompton!
-
• #3159
Well it is a back up light, but it does have a 230 lumen output.

I hate my life sometimes.

haha mashton, at least that is not as bad as the stair carpet incident. oh, IKEA, actually, that is worse.
polkinghorn - sorry to hear that dude. heal up man.
dropping like flies for tonight - all scared of being dropped by a man on a brompton no doubt ;)

He he.
I'll say it here, but I'll also say it later. Don't wait for me. Except maybe at the top of Exedown so you can all have a laugh at me.
If you do wait at any particular point for a breather or something and I catch you, I'm going to ride right past. It's all about the average speed...

please tell me he's also wearing a suit with a hi-viz vest, and a big bulbous helmet complete with rearview mirror
-
• #3168
All correct with the exception being a bowler hat instead of a helmet.
-
• #3169
I'll buy you many, many pints if you ride it with a bowler hat on Sam!
-
• #3170
The singleshot is bought and charging between my legs atm. The picture in the manual was quite explicit.
Now all I have to worry about is being over-geared and underfed. Quite looking forward to it. -

just correcting list as Wools is out and STE5 is in
Actually, I'm listed as Sean (my actual name) and I'm riding out.

The way peeps are dropping, this ride must be comparable to Surrey Hills...
If you cant ride tonight tis a shame, your individual styles and humour will be missed but there is alwys another TNRC coming up shortly (well for the moment anyway). -
• #3174
It's a bit of a drag up Bower Lane iirc, but it's only the first 100m or so past the houses that really hurts. Route profile shows another climb but I'm not familiar with that far out so can't comment on that one. Coming back down the valley is a pleasantness that makes up for the suffering.

wools and shoots. shame fellas, but will see you out there again soon.
cosy little group this evening hitting the trains out so reckon we should all cosy up on the same train. i don't mind which - mashton - you happy to hit cannon street instead of victoria - or tika, teddy, STE5 and tom happy to get over to victoria for the direct train?
i don't mind which and we can still go on separate trains if that is what is easiest for everyone.
the route from orpington station to st mary cray station is here
