Action Group Meeting - cycling deaths caused by lorries

I think the Mayor's office is a brilliant idea.
Does he really allow Action Groups to meet there? Sounds too good to be true.

To be fair, the last time I did that it was under the Livingstone administration and it was something being done by a boroguh group of the LCC but they did it. I think it's part of their remit to facilitate these things and it's a nice location.

Really freaked by this, this is a couple of hundred yards from me, I saw the aftermath of yesterdays death on the way to work and on Monday I gave 1st aid to a dying pedestrian on Oxford st.

I want it to be safer out there...

On Tuesday most lobbyists/campaigner types will still be at the Lib Dem party conference in Bournemouth (I'm running a fringe event on Tuesday night) and by Wednesday night we'd be back.

Wouldn't mention it but these are presumably the type of people whose skills could be useful for this sort of thing.

I will try to come. I think it's clear that we need to stage a highly visible, media attention-grabbing protest of some sort. Exactly what and when should be the purpose of the meeting. I'm in favour of a complete roadblock in one of the accident areas involving hundreds of cyclists and bikes chained together.

Sorry to say I'm out of the country next week, but I'm ready to give support to what ever action is decided upon.
