multigrooves: most of the synching on android is done over the air, you barely need to put it anywhere near a computer (apart from transferring music/movies). mac support is reasonable for that stuff too.
it'll keep your contacts/calendars/email up to date constantly.
i find using google to handle contacts is awesome: no risk of losing all your numbers if your phone disappears, and it makes switching phones pretty painless (you can sync google contacts to pretty much any phone).
android is my favouritest.
