Haha, he kept asking me about them when he saw them on my bike and was like yeah i'm gonna speak to JOL innit, and then he goes and behaves like this!

so at the risk of incurring the threads wrath and promoting another bike shop, JOL - i checked the approved pedalslist and these weren't on it...look like they should work though?!?

I'm pretty sure that the 'approved pedal list' was just a small selection of compatible pedals which CJ selected as a bit of guidance for people.

Moog is right.

The BLB pedals do not have as wide a frame as other platforms. This may make it harder to get into them as the 'hole' will be less wide. Not 100% though.

ok, i'm ordering new pedals as we speak..

I could be wrong but these look identical to JOL's straps (only made from leather instead of webbing)

After comparing the two again the only difference I can see is that the 'free' end of he strap is the other way up, still pretty similar though.

They look suspiciously similar...
