• Well, I'm not letting out a secret by letting on that this was totally brilliant.

Massive props to all the organisers--teenslain, RPM, JC--possibly more, but I don't know who they are. Fantastic work, you made a lot of people very happy. (And Rob is still way too thin to be riding a Derny. ;) )

I had such fun, absolutely loved it. What an end to the season.

Tooooo many stories to tell all round!

M My daughter Camilla really enjoyed herself and said how nice the people were, which was true (apart from Oliver S of course).

So you're saying that Camilla was lying??? :P

  • gold!

Lies! He's got 13 bikes to choose from!!!

  • Can anyone who took any pics get them up soon please! Let people who couldn't or didn't attend see what they missed.

Here you go - starter for ten.

Top day all - well done for organising and competing. Don't post the results tho. I came last on one of them.

  • Did anyone pick up a red helly hanson long sleeve jersey?

I left it on the platform with the podium and can't find it this morning so I must have forgotten to pick it up :(

Yes, I found it and gave it to Jason, who said he'd stick it in Lost Property.

  • The Oliver Story

On the first of the B Cat sprint heats, I led off from the start. A gentle pace. Really rather pleasantly slow. I got myself in the front determined to keep the pace down for a lap and a half so that I would have some puff for the final push. We glide gently to the first bend. And Schick is off. From nowhere comes the ponytailed Teuton powering around the bunch at great speed. I swore at him, sadly within earshot of my young daughter. A decision, Let him wear himself out or take his wheel. I kicked hard and caught the wheel. No one else came with me. Once on his wheel I was able to relax and start sledging him until the last turn when I rose slightly on the banking and attacked.

Schick rode in the play offs. When he repeated his early attack, they let him go and he romped home.

In the final, we boxed him in.

  • He, he, it worked once.

I couldn't win a sprint against anyone, so I have to ride to my strengths. :)

  • a few pics from the day. big thanks to the organisers.

  • Great photos Shorn [sp?]

  • lovely pics,, well done.

  • I have a black Condor hat from outside the Prince Regent if anyone has missed it.

  • Great pix, RPM looks positively heroic... :)

  • Monsieur rpm just needs a goulois hanging out his mouth in that last derny pic to finish off that 60's French look. Cool as fuck!
I'd love a high res copy of that if possible, although I seem to have a bit of a monkey face on.

  • Thanks for a lovely time Joe, Rob and Jason and everyone else who came down and participated and watched. Made for a lovely and eventful afternoon, just regret I wasn't able to make it down to the Prince Regent afterwards.

could monkeymanshorn post the Flickr location of the images as i'd love to 'favourite' some of them

  • Thanks Tricky Woo for the link.

  • monkeymanshorn, great pictures. I presume they are only in b&w? Actually, the lack of glaring pink shows off the rather pleasant geometry of my Steegmans. Thank you.

Thought I'd create a Flickr group for these. I know there is a lfgss one, but it can be handy to keep all shots in one place. So stick your pix there.

  • Thanks Rob Ts and jason for the amazing day. Great fun was had at the tarck and afterwards at the Prince Regent. Cisco was really happy.

  • I'm so happy today, I'm sure it's because my brain has never had to make so many nice-feeling-chemicals to get over the fact that yesterday, I completely destroyed my legs!

  • Lovely day, thanks guys - was a pleasure getting beaten by yous. Next year I will get something larger than a 40 tooth ring to run on and be in competition with King of Ming for last but one :)
