badtmy - didn't realise there was some recent tag issues for you...
I thought your post was about the abuse of dale, hippy, ononelangster, bellezza et al.i think abusing dale is fair enough, but i prefer to have my name on the credits when i'm insulting someone.
i don't like being called names anonymously, and i don't think anyone else does either. also there are some people deliberately shit-stirring to create problems, it seems.

VB, you should add a counter which will time your online being so that you know how many hours you have wasted

I started to collect info like that with the intent of having a live stats area about your browsing. But the additional load on the server is nuts.
Nowadays I only have the aggregate Google Analytics data and occasionally a click heatmap, I don't even log locally the server what you guys are doing... the site is just too busy and it all creates server load. So I don't actually have the means to tell you any live data about what you do on the site. All I have is anonymised, aggregated totals for days and hours... I can say X people were online and looked at this... but I can't break X down into who... so I've no means to tell you how long you've been online.

nah thats cool dude, im just joking anyway.
No one actually needs that, and as you said that only slows the server down.Im very glad you havent featured any useless crap that overloads the site, as I know even if my internet is slow and lagging and all my websites are loading mad slow i can just click on here and you never notice any lags.
Oh and by the way I use a website called http://www.statbrain.com/ which tells you the approx number of visitors and different traffic for any website you type in. It even tells you a little discription of the website.
Its a fun little thing to check how many clicks do porn sites get every day from pervs around the world. -

It's not that good.
The visits per day is about 30% lower than what Google Analytics and Woopra report.
The inbound Google links is a vast under-estimation.
The server is in Saint Louis, Missouri and not Canada.
It thinks I have nothing in Yahoo, and I have 76k URLs registered with 55k inbound links. In fact, it really couldn't get much more wrong. It even has the old keywords before some optimisation I did a month ago.

There appear to be a lot of Computer User, None Technicals on the forum today?

I've done a round of major upgrades to the rear end of the forum.
As usual it is customary to ask that if anyone spots something not working on the forum that was working yesterday... please let me know as soon as possible.
There's very few new features, this upgrade was all about bug fixes and optimisations. The few visible things that have changed are so subtle that frankly you shouldn't see any difference. But as code has changed, things might be broken and if so I want to know :)

Oh... CTRL+F5 on Windows machines... whatever force refreshes on Macs.
It's the stylesheets and stuff... give me a minute to get you back in sync.

How's it working now?
-
• #90
It has gone all Times New Roman.
Do not want!

No no... try now... just needed to get the other server the stylesheets.
We have 2 front-end servers, and 1 backend server.
The stylesheets were generated by the server where the upgrade happened... and then I copied the upgrade files to the other server. But I'd neglected the stylesheets... fixed now.

does anyone find the forum text looks a lot nicer in firefox/linux (not sure which does it?) than IE/windows?
Live updates! Cool!
Or has that always been there?
