Apologies to Dylan for losing him (and to James for having to go out and find him). Despite the 'not on my watch!' bravado one was bound to slip through the net as the gap between the back and the bunch was quite vast at times. Dylan was at the back with Ed and myself and decided to press on. I had assumed he caught sight of the bunch and whizzed off to catch them but I guess he missed a turning (like Ed and myself did) and kept on going in the wrong direction hoping to catch a glimpse of the bunch around the next corner! Hope you enjoyed the ride anyway, fellas!
no worries man!! - was completely my own fault for taking a phone with only about 1hr battery left! i thought i was catching up with the others but after about 20mins realised i had taken a wrong turn (i think i was actually really close to you guys at one point on the other side of matching green) - but having no phone or map just headed to harlow and took the train back!
overall was a really great ride .. really enjoyed the route .. was great to meet ppl ... and the secret stop was cool (if a little freaky!) .. and nice weather too! the terrain and pace was pretty much spot on (imho)
would love to do sthing like this again and would be really up for a monthly ...
james logos and i are actually rolling up that way again this weekend and doing london > high beech > thaxted >saffron walden ... essex is a great place to cycle as the roads are relatively flat (certainly compared to heading south into kent)
thanks to oliver for organising!
ileas - sorry to hear about your accident - hope you making a good recovery ...
