You don't need to transfer weight forwards loads, just jump your legs a bit to un-weight the rear.
Please practice a bit!
cheers for the advice everyone, but what you mention about jumping your legs could do the trick, i have just been practicing and yet could'nt quite start a skid, and when i lent forward my knees got in the way of the drops so a little jump might just do the trick :)
i'l go out later and practice some more! (ps for the record i have put a break back on!)
