Good friend of mine is a car mechanic, always wears latex gloves.
I thought it was because he wanted to keep his hands clean- turns out that working on cars (and I presume other mechanical things) the oil contains many very fine metal particles which being suspended in oil facilitates their transfer through the skin into the bloodstream.
This is a bad thing apparently, hence the gloves.
Now like everyone I would like to have the powers of Magneto, but I am unsure that filling myself with metal fillings then wrapping myself in copper and plugging into the national grid is the best way to achieve this.
