Have you ever worked lead? You can melt it in a pan over a hob, mould could be a cake tin.
Ex-Mallet in the middle and padding around it...
Haven't found anywhere to get it from, but when I was a kid we used to make soldiers out of it! (the whole poisonous thing might be a problem?)
