you have highly achieving sportsmen/women (i refuse to use the word 'great' as that suggests some humility and lack of conceit) because australia has little else to be proud of. no culture and little of achievement outside sport. what culture it does have is not supported as the indigenous people and their culture has been suppressed, most of the cultural and literal intelligentsia have the foresight to leave to achieve recognition and success, i'm still trying to figure out what talents the resident forum antipodeans are trying to export to the mother country?

well i wasn't in any of the crowds at the athletics or cricket so i wasn't doing my country a disservice. i certainly wouldn't boo anyone unless it was for not walking, backchat to the umpire, moaning about a substitute fielder or bowling the last ball underarm.

some serious twists of logic here. the prejudice and lack of understanding behind these comments is so transparent it's laughable.

you call australians arrogant and lacking in humility, then slate us for never producing anything of value other than sports stars? you rip on our entire country, in a way that doesn't even begin to resemble the truth, just to get a wind-up? what sort of neo-colonialist bullshit is that? it's hypocrisy of the finest quality. but we're the ones who need to be taken down a peg and taught how to lose gracefully? get fucked.

and then to claim some moral high ground loosely related to not walking, backchat, claiming catches or whatever else? how many examples of this sort of thing were there from England players during this series? claimed catches, dodgy appeals, refusals to walk, physical intimidation of batsmen... would anyone like a mint? i'm not saying Australia is perfect, but England is just as bad and always has been: you're talking out your arse to support your warped prejudices.
