I have an old 1976 Raleigh with a 3-speed sturmey archer fitted that i stripped, sprayed and added some drop bars to. I really want to convert to SS (it is useful having the gears with the look of a SS bike, but tbh the wheel bearings are goosed and i need new wheels at some point anyway) but i don't know if it will be worth all the cash? The main problem atm is that i want to replace the BB and get coterless cranks, but as it is on the old Raleigh 26tpi thread it would mean the best part of £150 before i've even started on a Phil Wood BB...
