Its looking good. Interesting that you went to low flange hubs.

it is just what i had around. My bro had the rims laced to the hubs so I got them off him as i did just want to ride the bike. i still have the hubs that came with the bike when i found it, at home. nice drilled out ones but this was just easier/probably more reliable and to be honest looks good. though i feel if i got a non quick release skewer for the front it may be a better idea.

It's your bike mate, do what you want to it.

Either that or send it back to Mercian for a proper job.

No andy we will have a say. OK!

I don't understand why people get all funny about this then go and stick risers or an aerospoke or deep vs on a bike. Weird.
If it was rare then they might have a point, but Mercians are very common. Powder coat it and ride it.

I am tempted to get it powder coated as it will just rust more and I am moving to Newquay in October and dont want it disintergrate as soon as I get there. Once it is built I also cant be arsed taking it apart again, plus I got it cheap as chips.. So looks like Armourtex it is and an aerospoke rear and HED front with pink risers and green tyres ;-)

...most important thing though is to get a totally pointless MKS chaintug
I think it's a very lovely build mate, it's not often we see people building up old bike like that.
as for tyres, check the Panaracer Pasela one, a better combination of having gumwall tyres with puncture resistance (touring tyres usually are).
