They go soft with age. All the original specialized ones are now 'soft', but unless you are racing on it, it will make f all difference.
Don't buy a tub for every day riding, foolish idea, best avoided. Check that the rim is still well bonded into the carbon and there are no cracks.
And don't pay more than £200.
