the tattoo'd tear under the eye, comes from borstal, it means "missing your mum" the more tears, the more times they have been in. fact.
Haven't heard that one before, it's usually a loss or a murder, i thought?

Most of those pics are in NYC/Brooklyn right? Could easily be Shoreditch and Hoxton.
Actually, saying that I was in Hoxton the other Saturday night and it was full of Northerners that have read about the place 10 years too late+1

It's estate agents that harp on about 'cool areas'. I lived the top of Brixton Hill, behind the prison for a couple of years - full of estate kids arsing about, crack'eads, hookers etc. The council cleaned the area up a bit - CCTV, lick of paint on a few lamposts etc, the someone opened a deli on New Park Rd. My mate called out Foxtons to value our flat we were in at the time - he was trying to sell the area as 'Abbeville Village East', cos Abbeville Rd is 5mins down the road - it's Brixton you cunt, always will be!I think the next 'cool & trendy' area over the next few years could well be New Cross, Peckham, Deptford, seriously - especially as the new crossrail is almost finished. You watch all the uni types and city boys all start moving in and the house prices start going up. One gastropub popping up and that'll be it!
Thing that blocks Deptford from ever getting there is the lack of old school buildings i.e. Pretty victorian/ Georgian style housing. A lot of the area that have been transformed/regentrified have had a good number of housing in this bracket. Even Princess avenue (Liverpool 8) has seen this effect.
Deptford has got lot of 60's council housing and will remain shit.

Oh god, the worst sight is really tubby teenage girls in drainpipes. When they put their feet together they look like a stick of kebab meat.
Just preserving this. Couldn't have been better described.

my favourite TIWYF recipe was the meta pizza: pizza topped with mini pizzas.

Deptford is a bit shitty but i fncking love it! Its quiet, everything is cheap in the market. And its not full of knobbends.
I would want it to stay they way it is.

I much doubt that: I'm very receded and the other is James.

Hot as Fuck. Natalie Portman (when bald) is hotter though. Hot damn.
Cardiff is fucking dire, like, Cormac McCarthy dire. I went for a night out with some friends from Uni last year and it was carnage. I ended up staying sober so I could cope with the apocalyptic midnight whirlwind of vomit covered kebab wrappers and finished fag packets stuffed with dirt-smeared used condoms. I live in Manchester, and that's fucking pedestrian in comparison.
Then again, I wouldn't want to chance it in Glasgow, from what I've heard.
p.s. LdnGrrl, I'm sure you're fine.

Haha just seen the post about Cardiff, absolutely shocking pictures. Practically all of those pictures were taken on St. Mary's street which is full of wank clubs like Flares, all the good clubs are away from that area thankfully so I've never had to encounter any of that shambles. I'm surprised nobody has found pictures of Clwb Ifor Bach on a Thursday seeing how it's the hipster thread, full of 'hipster' wankers in there with thier day-glo bowler hats and brogues.
